UNIT 1

Hi!

Our first task in this Blog will be to describe someone in the class. Each student will give a full description of someone in the class and the rest of the students will try to guess who that is by writing the person’s name in a new entry (Comment)
Is it clear?
Please, try to use as much vocabulary and grammar as possible. For example: age, clothes and colours, the way someone look, adjectives describing personality, etc. To make the game a bit more difficult do NOT use he has got /she is… but rather this person is / has got… OR he/she is…

For example: This person is very tall and thin. He/She has got long dark hair and....

  2. Hi everyone!
The person who I´m describing is middle-aged, medium height and middle size and he/she is ordinary-looking. She/He has short straight brown hair, and brown eyes. Usually wears jeans and a blouse and is very extrovert, funny and generous. And I don´t say anymore because I gave you a good clue. Who is he/she?

    Another clue, I´m a student of 2ºC

  3. Ok....good description although not too many details! I have no idea!
an your eyes are blue: AND HER eyes...

  4. This is a comment for 2C:
Usually wears: Subject missing! HE/SHE usually
    But, a very good description!
To wear a blouse is a good tip!

  5. I'd say she is not very tall and not very short, just medium size, nearly a meter and sixty cms. long, and her weight is around 60 kgs. She is in her late 30s, though people think she is much
younger than what she actually is. She has long curly brown hair, with fair skin and brown eyes. She wears just to feel comfortable with herself. She wears glasses too.

She is nice and a little bit shy. She gets on well with most people. She is friendly and very good at listening. Also, she enjoys learning English but she doesn't have much free time to study.

Guess now, who you think she is.

  6. Excellent description. However, you forgot to answer the previous entry. That is, you're supposed to try to guess the previous 2C comment above!

She wears just to feel comfortable with herself: She wears whatever makes her feel comfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Sorry about that but I don't know who is the person in the previous 2C comment, so I wrote another description about other student in our class.

  8. I don't know either. I think we should give more details, such as where this person usually sits (on the right, at the back....)

  9. Hi everyone!

Ok, let´s see. I wrote the first description for 2C. I´ll try to give you more details, but not very obvious. For this reason I can´t to say where is She/He usually sits, but I can say that this person always sits in the same place, which is not very near from the board.

Another tip, I said He/She is middle-aged, Ok?. Well, She/He is probably one of the older people in our class.

Come on, say a name! Read again what kind of clothes She/He usually wears, I think there is a good clue. The next time, if you want, I´ll say who is He/She.

Congratulations to the Anonymous person who described the second classmate. While I was reading, I could see her. Can I say who is she?

  10. I think the problem is that I write with the name "Anonymous", but there is another "Anonymous", so, how can we guess the person who is described from "anonymous1" or "anonymous2". My description begins "I'd say...", my name can be Enma Queen, so I am going to sign with that name next time.

    Enma Queen

    ReplyDelete
  11. My description begun: "I'd say". So, I'm going to give more detais.

This person usually sits next to the door. (Oh, my god! now it's very easy to guess who I am talking about)...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, you can sign with your own name too!

  14. Hi again. It's me, Enma Queen. A question for Anonymous 1. Is your mistery classmate a woman who has a very strong voice with a funny English accent (in the right way) and has a bookshop?

    ReplyDelete
  15. YES! Very good Enma Queen! You got it!
She is María José, a good classmate, and an excellent person. It wasn´t too difficult, wasn´t it?.

Now, I´ll tell you something Enma Queen, I had a dissapointment because I was sure that the person who you was talking about, was Carmen, and now that can´t be possible. She always sits on the right, ahead the windows.
Mmmmm....There aren´t many women who wear glasses in our class... Can she be Inma?

  19. Hi Anonymous1! It's me, Emma Queen. It's funny you thought about Carmen. Sometimes, in class, Emi called her Inma, and my description is about ...
    Inma!
And Inma is Emma Queen as well. I described to myself. So we solved two mysterious characters.
    See you.

  20. Hi again!

Lorena, very good description of Macarena, is she your misterious classmate? I´m agree with you, she´s a very good classmate and better person.

I´m very clueless and I didn´t notice that there are more women who wear glasses (during the class)... I continue saying that she´s Inma, but Rosario wears glasses too... Mmmmm... What do you say, Enma Queen?

  21. Hi again,
I know who is the classmate described for Lorena... MACARENA!!!!!

I'm very sorry for missing about Halloween party and conversation club. At that time it's my "children-time".

    Enma Queen

    ReplyDelete
  22. Haha, yes and no! Emma Queen is not Inma but Maria José, isn't it?!

  23. Emma:

  24. Emi, I described Mª José, Lorena described Macarena and Enma Queen is Inma, who described herself.

Well done Inma! When you gave us more details, I changed my opinion and I thought about you. But I didn´t imagine you was Enma Queen. I like this game!!

  25. As I said, I´m very clueless. About classmates who wear glasses, I´d like to describe another one. Can I? (We resolved all our riddles).

My new misterious classmate is middle-aged, medium height and medium-size. She/He has short straight brown hair. He/She is very friendly, she/he always has an smile on his/her face, and he/she always pay attention in her/his english studies. I think he/she is a bit shy, but as I said, he/she is very friendly. She/He always sits at the back of the class.

I have to improve my grammar, I know, but I have to pay a lot of attention to put a subject before a verb all the time. It´s necesary in the previous paragraph?

I know there are a lot of classmates and schoolmates (2ºA CAL) who read the blog. Come on, let´s give Emi a lot of work!! (It´s a joke)

  26. Hi!!!
My mysterious person is about 28 years old. She’s slim and has greenish eyes and pretty long brown hair. Some days she has curly hair and the others, very straight shiny hair. She isn’t very tall. She has tanned skin because she went to the beach a lot last summer.
She usually wears a comfortable shirt, trousers and sandals. I don’t remember the colours of her clothes. She usually sits near the windows. She’s very nice, polite and friendly. She gets on well with all her classmates.
She cooks delicious desserts, some of us ate them last year at Halloween party. She likes dancing, in fact, she goes to a Latin dance course twice a week. She is going to go on holiday very soon. The trip lasts many hours because the city (where--- It makes sense to put where here? I think not, but I’m not sure) she’s going to visit is very far away!!
There are very good clues, don’t you think??
    Have a good time!!
    Mamen

  27. Yes, you need to use a subject. You always do :)

  28. Very good, Mamen (2-C).
No, you can't use "where" in this case. You have to use "that" instead or actually, nothing!

  36. Hi again!!

A few days ago, I described a classmate… This was the description:

"My new misterious classmate is middle-aged, medium height and medium-size. She/He has short straight brown hair. He/She is very friendly, she/he always has an smile on his/her face, and he/she always pay attention in her/his english studies. I think he/she is a bit shy, but as I said, he/she is very friendly. She/He always sits at the back of the class."

I also said that He/She wore glasses. There aren´t enough clues, I know, but I´m going to tell you something for guessing the mistery.
SHE (first clue) is an artist. I didn´t know, I had a big surprise when She did her description of her own painting, a beautiful painting of a day in the beach.
I´m sure you know now who is She. ;)

  37. Very good!
    Remember: AT the beach
I´m going to tell you something for guessing: TO GUESS

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous 13: you need to say which group as there are 2 groups for level 2.

Usually is sitting: He/she usually sits

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous 13, I think you describe Rosa, who is a classmate in group 2C. Very good description, I remember her painting, and I love it, a fantastic work.

Now I describe a girl. Our classmate is medium height and medium-size, she has brown eyes and she has long straight brown hair. She is in her early 30s. She usually wears glasses and trousers.

This classmate usually sits near the windows. She is a very good student, she loves learning English and she is never absent from English classes.

She is friendly, hard-working and generous. She likes reading books (sometimes in English) and going to the cinema.

And finally I give one clue: did you remember her description of the painting "The luncheon the Boating Party", by Renoir?

    See you

    Carmen 2ºC

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes Carmen, I described Rosa. Well done!

I think you made a very good description about... (I´m going to say her name because you made your description on November the 14th, and I can´t wait anymore to say her name)... MAMEN, our brilliant and friendly classmate.
